Ninth studio album by English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, released in September 1988 on Polydor. It was their first album as a quintet. With the arrival of multi-instrumentalist Martin McCarrick and guitarist Jon Klein, the group recorded a multi-faceted album with a variety of influences.
The aim of the Peepshow album is to explore new territories. And we have to admit that the band does it in an excellent way. There are some rare tracks typical of the Siouxsie And The Banshees sound but the aim of the Peepshow album is to explore new territories. And we have to admit that the band does it in an excellent way. There are some rare tracks typical of the Siouxsie And The Banshees sound, but most of the compositions on this album lead the band to unexplored lands like the single “Peek A Boo” and its clip evoking New Orleans to country (“Burn Up”), passing by flamenco (“Turn To Stone”). Everything is perfectly mastered, all these new influences are perfectly digested. An excellent album which gets richer with each listening.
