Green Slime Shop travels to San Francisco in its psychedelic heyday to bring you this t-shirt of one of its most atypical bands, Mad River.

To make this t-shirt we have simply redrawn the masterful typography that the great Rick Griffin created for the cover of their first LP in 1968, we have respected the colour of the typography and of course we used a black t-shirt that gives the composition the best possible result. All this printed on a high quality Stanley/Stella t-shirt to achieve a product with a superb transfer of the design and great durability over time.

Limited edition 25 handnumbered copies only!

Mad River were an unpopular band in the San Francisco of the second half of the 60s, arguably a close second to the classics Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother, etc. This is because their vision of psychedelia was a dark, pessimistic vision and had nothing to do with the expansive version of the aforementioned bands. Listening to Mad River's first album makes Jefferson Airplane or Quicksilver sound like The Archies.

Mad River's music is full of dissonant guitars, feedback and other effects that give the sound of the album a sort of black miasma, a product of the putridity that was beginning to emanate from the rotting corpse of San Francisco's countercultural revolution: the hard drugs, the cults, the entrenched Vietnam War... the end of utopia.
